"My husband and I believe that child sexual abuse is an urgent issue in our community that often goes unaddressed. We felt a responsibility to share this knowledge with our neighbors, hoping it could make a difference for the children around us. The discussions were eye-opening, and our group shared honest perspectives and valuable ideas. By the end, everyone agreed that the class was impactful and worth their time."

Gather a Group to Teach

With our education, we make it easy to teach groups you are already connected to. Our plug-and-play curriculum lets you gather a group and teach the classes yourself. Below are some tips for how to get started.

The most effective way to provide education is during gatherings where people naturally come together. Consider these opportunities:

  • Regularly scheduled organizational trainings.
  • Parent groups for sports teams or extracurricular activities.
  • "Lunch and Learn" sessions at workplaces or organizations.
  • Community or neighborhood meetings.
  • Faith-based groups or church gatherings.
  • Homeowners association meetings.
  • Parent-teacher association (PTA) events.

Work with the people in your group or organization to determine how to include this education in an already scheduled meeting. Once a time and place are set, invite others and promote the event. Sharing this information widely will raise awareness and promote safety in your community.

After confirming the time and location, extend invitations to others to join.

Make sure the event is well-promoted to maximize attendance and share this vital information widely. Reaching as many people as possible will help foster safety and raise awareness throughout your community.

To increase participation, consider connecting with influential community members who can help you reach additional groups, such as:

  • Civic leaders.
  • Healthcare professionals.
  • Faith-based organizations.
  • Business leaders.
  • School administrators and educators.
  • Grassroots neighborhood organizers.
